4 LTTA Report of the meeting in Italy

 

REPORT OF THE MEETING IN ITALY

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ 2021-2-EL01-KA210SCH-000051122 partnership project entitled "Live mobile, eat healthy, catch quality " , the fourth mobility was held in Rome, at the comprehensive institute I.C Via del Calice , from 23th to 29th of April 2023 

 

The 4th  LTTA planned was named  You are what you eat, how to have  a balanced diet  It was attended by:

- 6 teachers and the principal of I.C. Via del Calice : Mariarosa Tarantino, Rosa Lupo,        Antonella Cinfrignini, Valentina Fusco, Giulia schiavi, Simona Bevilacqua ,Liliana Sgaramella.

-       
 - 5 teachers of the 2nd Primary school of Agios Nikolaos in Greece:Alexandra Karagiovanidou, Anastasia Gika, Paraskevi Pagkalou, Eirini Athanasaki, Anastasia Petanidou.

- 4 teachers of the Emine Turkan Ikiz Ilkokulu school in Adana, Turkey:Muhammet Ali Kose, Secil Buzcu, Selen Zeha Orgen,

 

-        All the students of the primary school of I.C.ViadelCalice ( 540 students ) and 10 greek students and 10 turkish students during the online meeting

 

-        20 parents.

 

The pre-mobility activities carried out  before the meeting were :

-        Analysis of the journals where students wrote what they ate what activity they practiced.

-        Summary of the results of the journals

-        Study of the food pyramid and creation of posters about it

-        Creation of a healthy life guide



Several seminars and workshops on the principles of eating well were organised with students and practical activities for students to apply what they learnt about healthy eating – shopping for groceries, preparing healthy meals, adapting unhealthy dishes in order to make them morehealth-friendly. Parents were  invited to participate in different  activities.

Day 1 Cultural tour exploring Rome   the Eternal city considering 3,000 years of history Tour  of the main archaeological sites in the city center: Colosseo, Arco di  Constantino, Foro Imperiale, Altare della Patria, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Pantheon, Piazza Navona. We also had a journey on a virtual reality bus that allowed us to rediscover the original splendor of ancient monuments reconstructed in 3D .

Day 2 Cultural tour of the Vatica, the world’s smallest independent city-state where the Pope lives. We visited The Basilica di San Pietro built over the tomb of the Apostle Peter that is the centre of Roman catholicism and the largest basilica of Christianity and the Vatican museums and gardens.

 

Day 3  Activities in the school of Gregna Sant’Andrea

Introductory meeting – presentation of school- presentation of meeting objectives and timetable  - Group ice breaker activities -- Synthetic presentation of the journals

 All the classes of the school presented a welcomed activity :

1)    Welcome song  by IE- IF; 2) Body percussion  by VE;  3) The art of Modigliani by IIE; 4)  Spaghetti with cheese and pepper by IIF;  5)  Healthy Lifestyle Guide IIIE ; 6) Welcome song by IIIF; 7) Art and healthy food by IVE – IVF; 8) The Food pyramid by VF

 Visit to the school canteen, analysis of the school menus by the dieticians: Alessandrina Lalli, Fabiana Grosso, Cristina Selli and Silvana Nascinben of the seventh municipality of Rome,  
presentation by Vivenda of the products used in the  school canteens.

Seminar on the principles of healthy nutrition by the nutritionist Eleonora Bonanni  She explained to the teachers and the parents that a proper nutrition is fundamental to a child’s continued health, from birth through adulthood. Correct feeding  is particularly important due to its role in lowering morbidity and mortality, reducing the risk of chronic disease throughout their life span, and promoting regular mental and physical development.

Lunch in the school cafeteria with all the guests  and pupils of the school

Discussion on brochures and online visit of the FAO agency that aims to defeat hunger in the way and ensure everyone regular access to food.

 



Day 4  Activities in the school Via del Calice

All the classes of the school presented a welcomed activity:

1) Welcomed greetings   from kindergarten children; 2) Welcome songs by II A - II B; 3) Donation of a bookmark  by IA- IB;  4) Italian gastronomic specialties by VA – VB; 5) Songs of the Roman tradition IIIA – IIIB ; 6)  workshop about healthy shopping, reading and interpreting labels, applications of the workshop , the  host students are given tasks to perform in relation to the workshop about shopping for food the teams of students are led by parents by IV A; 7) aperitif with all the most typical italian food by IV B.

Lunch in the school cafeteria with the students and the dieticians of the seventh municipality of Rome.

Institutional greetings  at school with the local authorities of the council hall of the seventh town hall.

 

Day 4 Activities in the school of Via Amantea

 

Attending classes with host students, welcome and greetings from classes II and IV , visit of the kindergarten,  motor and expressive activities in the gym,

 workshop about how to use the necessary ingredients in order to prepare healthy food , host students work in transnational teams to learn  the Italian gestures and the Italian dance Tarantella. Organization of Healthy Food Fair the dishes they prepared were displayed in the school.

Evaluation meeting to discuss the exchange, the acquired knowledge,  participants are given new journals in which they need to record everything they eat and all the physical activities they perform on a daily basis on a duration of 3 months,

certificates were  awarded
